Rules and sources
- Mic and camera access
- Access is requested through getUserMedia only when you press a button. If it fails, the browser's error tells the page whether the site is blocked, your system settings block it or no device was found.MDN: MediaDevices.getUserMedia() · Checked Oct 10, 2026
- Mic level
- Measured with echo cancelling, noise suppression and auto volume switched off on request. On a scale where 0 dBFS is the loudest value, passing −45 dBFS counts as picking up sound, and a signal cut off at the top is flagged as too loud.About Checkbench
- Refresh rate
- Timed with requestAnimationFrame over 120 frames, using the median gap. Within 1% of a common rate it says ‘about’ that rate, and if fewer than 75% of frames arrive on time it gives no number.About Checkbench
- Keys held at once
- Every key down at the same moment counts, modifiers included. The basic USB keyboard report holds six keys besides the modifiers.USB-IF, Device Class Definition for Human Interface Devices (HID) 1.11 · Checked Oct 10, 2026
- Gamepad sticks
- A resting average under 5% counts as centered and 15% or more as drifting. Gamepad API values are shown unfiltered, so games that ignore small offsets near the center may not show slight drift.Microsoft Learn: Getting Started With XInput in Windows applications (Dead Zone) · Checked Oct 10, 2026
- What stays on your device
- Mic audio, recordings, camera video and photos are handled inside the tab and never uploaded. The browser keeps only a few settings, such as your keyboard layout and the double-typing and double-click limits.Checkbench Privacy Policy
The pass marks are Checkbench's own rules, not an official standard, and a meeting app may clean up your mic, so a call can sound different.
